Ready to Expand Your Operations to the United States? - Meet Paul Frank + Collins, Our New Member on the East Coast

While celebrating its 50th Anniversary, the Vermont based law firm, with offices in New York and Massachusetts, joined the Eurojuris network. Paul Frank + Collins offers a full array of legal services to international clients and has extensive experience advising Canadian and European companies doing business throughout the United States. Its Corporate, Immigration, Employment, Tax, Intellectual Property, and Patent lawyers work as a unified team to help foreign businesses, institutions, organizations, and individuals establish U.S. offices, make investments, and conduct businesses throughout the United States. The 28 attorneys are admitted to practice across the U.S., including Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and New York and meet their clients at their Vermont, Massachusetts or NY locations.

Adeline Simenon, a Director and Shareholder at Paul Frank + Collins and our Eurojuris contact, focuses her practice on assisting European and Canadian entrepreneurs and investors establish a U.S. office, invest, expand their operations throughout the U.S. and obtain work authorization and visas to run their U.S. offices. Adeline explains, “Practising federal law, and international law, allows me to represent clients everywhere in the United States”. She began her legal career in Los Angeles where she taught courses in European Union Trade Law and International Commercial Law for the prestigious University of California Gould School of Law, and practiced at a leading firm for several years. She relocated to the East Coast in 2013.

We learn about Adeline’s multi-national background while discussing PF+C’s international business services. The French-Swiss-American attorney was born and raised in France, her mother is Finnish, her husband is American, Canadian and Swiss. She holds two master’s degrees in law from Lille University in France and an LL.M. from USC Gould School of law, Los Angeles. She speaks French, English and a “little bit” of Finnish.

Adeline splits her time between Burlington, Montreal, New York, and Boston. She tells us that “Boston is a hub for international entrepreneurs and startups, particularly life sciences companies. The city offers a multitude of research & innovation centers, talents from universities, research laboratories, and a strong ecosystem encouraging innovation. It is also very attractive to European entrepreneurs because of the six-hour time-zone difference”.

“By establishing our base office in Vermont we can offer cost-efficient services to our clients. And with an international airport, we support our clients worldwide. Flying from Burlington to meet our clients in New York City or Washington D.C. only takes us 40 minutes!”, Adeline remarks.

As a Eurojuris member, PF+C seeks to develop strong partnerships with European lawyers. ‘We wanted to join Eurojuris to build a solid network of trusted lawyers. We have a lot to offer and clients to refer!’ Adeline says.

Fun Fact: Paul Frank + Collins is located in the same building as Senator Bernie Sanders’s office.
